Mastering the Courtroom
Strategy, Theater & The Litigator’s Ethos
A cinematic CLE course on courtroom advocacy, persuasion, preparation, and trial craft — taught by veteran trial lawyer Ernest L. Jarrett.
Courtroom advocacy is more than
just knowing the rules.
Litigation is a discipline of judgment, preparation, narrative, evidence, presence, and timing. Mastering the Courtroom distills nearly five decades of trial experience into practical, case-driven lessons designed to sharpen your mind, discipline your craft, and elevate your impact where it matters most — before judges and juries.
Course Modules
A four-part journey through trial mindset, case theory, preparation, and the theater of courtroom persuasion.
Module 1: The Winning Mindset
Learn how purpose, duty, and the advocate’s “why” give litigation its force. This module frames litigation as more than a technical process — it is a discipline rooted in service, judgment, narrative, and commitment to the client.
Module 2: The Godfather Effect
Discover how repeated review, case immersion, and contradiction-spotting reveal the theory hidden in the facts. Through case study and evidence analysis, this module explores how great advocates let the case speak, identify what others miss, and build persuasive narratives from the record.
Module 3: The road to trial
Build the habits and discipline that carry a case from early preparation toward the courtroom. Through instruction and case-study analysis, this module explores client trust, truthful communication, trial mindset, and the art of deposition — including witness control, impeachment, and preparing the record for trial.
Module 4: mastering the theater of the courtroom
Learn how storytelling, presence, voice, visuals, timing, and strategy come together to turn the courtroom into a theater of persuasion.
